THE CONTRACEPTIVE PATCH THAT CAN PREVENT PREGNANCY FOR 24 WEEKS.

Professor Mark Prausnitz of the Institute of Technology, Georgia and his team supported by Family Health are working on a contraceptive patch that could prevent pregnancy for up to 24 weeks. The patch will only need to be applied to skin for few seconds, during which micro needles would be implant under the woman's skin and release contraceptive into the body. This method being easy would negate the need to take a one-per-day contraceptive pill and also will possibly prove more suitable than coil or implant which can only be administered by a doctor. With this method women to be able to self-administer long-acting contraceptives with the microneedle patch that would be applied to the skin for five seconds just once a month.
